St Jean d'Aulps, a
quaint little village located in
the heart of the Vallée
d'Aulps, really is a hidden
gem of ski resort.
St Jean D’Aulps is within easy access of the main Portes du Soleil ski
area (Morzine is a 5 minute drive away), however the town has it’s own
ski area - la Grande Terche – with
34 km of pistes.
La Grande Terche ski area is not linked by lifts to the rest of the Portes du
Soleil region, meaning that the pistes never get too crowded. This makes it ideal
for families and beginners, however there is a lot of accessible off piste to
be found which will keep more advanced skiers and snowboarders happy.
The fact that it is a relatively unheard of resort also means that the cost of
accommodation is lower than elsewhere in the area.
The normal transfer time from
Geneva Airport to St Jean D’Aulps
and La Grand Terche is around 1
hour 20 minutes, but can take longer
at peak times.
