The majority of runs in both mountains are intermediate to advanced level and consist of descending through the steep and thick forests.

Beginners can start off by using the Planai gondola that goes up the mountain to the nursery area. Another alternative (after several ski classes) is to try out the lower slopes in Hochwurzen which can be reached by riding the chairlift.
Intermediates/Advanced skiers have almost the entire area to themselves, apart from the two World Cup runs and all year round ski area located in the Dachstein glacier suitable for all abilities.
