Avoriaz Cable Car Transfers

As Avoriaz is a car-free resort, we are not able to offer door to door transfers. Instead, we offer two drop-off options;  Avoriaz or the Avoriaz Cable Car.

Which option to choose, depends on the location of your accommodation in the resort and also your flight arrival or departure time. The information below will help you decide on the best option for you.

Avoriaz Ski Resort

If you book your transfer to Avoriaz, this will take you to the Welcome Centre, at the entrance to the resort. This is closest to the Falaise and L’Amara areas. The Falaise area is within walking distance.

If you are staying at the L’Amara, you will be dropped off and picked up on level 1 of the underground parking for this residence.

If your accommodation is in one of the other areas, you can take a snow taxi or horse & cart to your accommodation from the welcome centre, the cost is roughly €8 for up to 6 people. If you prefer to walk, there are luggage sledges available to use.

At times, due to heavy snow and the altitude of the resort, it can be impossible to access Avoriaz by road. In these situations, your transfer will go to the cable car instead.

Avoriaz Cable Car – Prodains Express

Instead of taking a transfer all the way up to Avoriaz, you can go to the Avoriaz Cable Car (Prodains Express) and catch this up to resort. The lift is covered on the Avoriaz and Portes de Soleil lift pass if you have one, or you can buy a pedestrian pass for approximately €9 per person (please check the Avoriaz website for accurate and up to date pricing).

If you are staying in the bottom half of the resort, then this is a better option, as the cable car takes you to the lower end of the resort, as shown on the map below.

From the cable car station, can take a snow taxi or horse & cart for the same price as from the Welcome Centre.

However, it will depend on your flight time, as to whether you are able to take the cable car as for early flight departures the cable car will not open early enough to get you to the transfer meeting point and for late arrivals you will get to the cable car after it closes and not be able to use it to access the resort.

The opening times are shown in the table below and we would suggest that for arrivals, your arrival flight time should be no later than 3 hours before the time of the last lift and for departure; your departure flight should be no earlier than 4 hours before the lift opens.

Prodains Express Opening Times – Winter Schedule

OPEN CLOSE
Skiers 08:45 21:00
Pedestrians – Monday to Thursday 07:00 21:00
Pedestrians – Friday to Saturday 07:00 00:00

It is possible to book a range of transfers to either Avoriaz or the Avoriaz Cable Car, including shared and private transfers from Geneva airport.
