Skiing in Le Tour

Le Tour is known for an expansive array of gentle slopes in its Domaine de Balme area. Perhaps rightfully so, because this area offers the highest concentration of blue pistes in the Chamonix Valley.

Le Tour is connected to Vallorcine, so while it does offer those friendly venues for beginning skiers, the challenging pistes of Vallorcine are not far at all – striking a neat balance for families with varying skill levels.

Intermediate skiers, expert skiers, and boarders will love the area’s expansive off-piste opportunities. There are also 7 reds and 1 black for those with higher experience to try.

Boarders will be delighted with Le Tour’s new snowpark, one of the largest in Europe, which just opened in the past year. It’s got a freestyle zone that’s over 1000m long!

Le Tour and the broader Chamonix area is full of amazing food. Look for pierrade, which involves a hot slate on which you cook your own meat right at the table. Or croute savoyarde, a wine-drenched slice of bread baked with melted cheese & tomatoes. There’s a handful of bars in the area, most with a vibrant expat crowd.
