Skiing in Saas Fee

With 100km of pistes, 2 snowparks, half pipes and a good selection of runs to suit all abilities. As well as being slightly cheaper and generally less busy than its famous neighbour Zermatt.  This all makes Saas Fee as one of the world’s top resorts, with a picturesque setting, car-free and excellent facilities, Saas Fee has an all-year-round glacier that can be reached through the underground funicular and other modern lifts.

Saas Fee has one of Europe’s max verticals that is usually available throughout the whole winter season, as long as snow conditions remain normal.

Beginners have a plateau close to the village where they can practice and become more prominent in their skiing skills, this plateau – given its altitude, is most likely to be covered in snow unlike the nursery slopes in the village where the snow may last for one month or two.

However, this area is best suited for both intermediate and advanced skiers. With the three main ski areas: the Felkskinn, the Plattjen and the Langfuh – where 50km are comprised of red runs, 25km are blue runs and another 25km are black runs, while this is certainly not a place for newcomers to set their foot in, it’s a great place for when you attain a little more experience.
