Villars Ski Resort
Villars is a Swiss ski resort associated with the Alpes Vaudoises ski area with access to 220km of downhill skiing. The resort of Villars-Gryon itself has 125km of runs, which with the appropriate ski pass, can be extended by jumping onto other areas in the Alpes Vaudoises (Les Diablerets and Leysin).
Take the chairlift to Les Diablerets and then you ride the lift up to Isenau and move onto Col du Pillon where you can then reach the Diablerets glaciers where you can ride the long 14km descent down to the Le Diablerets village. This specific area is filled with beginner and intermediate level trails, with merely one short black run stretching down the glacier.
In this resort and nearby areas, there’s a mix of terrains, especially above the treeline. The quickest way to start skiing is to ride the gondola situated near the edge of the village that takes you to Roc, which is the perfect starting point to access other ski areas.
Villars is also a great place to get started. Beginners have access to great facilities and a train ride up to a sunny area with gentle slopes with guaranteed snow coverage. Intermediates have the better compared to the rest, the terrain from an overall perspective is filled with blue and red runs, which for intermediates is wonderful – additionally, holding the Alpes Vaudoises ski pass can lead to a total of 220km of interesting trails.
Experts can enjoy 8 different black runs, namely a long descent from Roy d’Orsay to Villars and the short runs from Chaux Ronde.
