Wengen Airport Transfers

Wengen Airport Transfers

Wengen has to be one of the most impressive ski resorts in Switzerland, if not the world and the reason for that is that it looks directly on to the north face of the Eiger, one of the most feared and iconic mountains in the world.

The resort of Wengen is actually very peaceful and picturesque, with car free streets and a relaxed night life which can be enjoyed by all.

The ski area is pretty big as well, with access to over 200 KM of pistes, so it is unlikely you’ll get bored on a holiday in Wengen. The only downside is that the lifts can get busy on peak weeks, so these are best avoided.

Wengen – A Car Free Resort

There is no road access to the resort of Wengen, so your transfer will take you to the resort of Lauterbrunnen and from here, you catch a train the rest of the way, (payable locally). The train departs Lauterbrunnen every 30 minutes, at 7 and 37 minutes past the hour until 20.30 and then runs hourly until 23.30. Late night services depart at 00.40 and 01.20 in the week and at the weekend, there is an additional train at 02.40. The journey takes around 15 minutes. There is a free hotel phone at Lauterbrunnen station, which you can use to call your hotel and let them know you’re on your way, so they can come and collect you from the railway station when you arrive. There is also a phone at Wengen station, if you don’t have time to call before your train leaves.
For your return transfer, your driver will meet you at Lauterbrunnen station, so you will need to ensure that you catch a train which allows you to get to Lauterbrunnen in time for your pick up.

The whole process is easy and is designed to take away any of the stress in trying to find a taxi to Wengen from the airport.
