Cervinia Ski Resort
Italy’s most snow-sure resort, Cervinia is situated in the northwestern part of Italy in the Alpine resort of Valle d’Aosta. Cervinia is one of Italy’s more lively après-ski resorts, especially during weekends. When Italian day-trippers come to visit, the atmosphere is particularly vibrant. There is a natural ice-skating rink right in the heart of Cervinia. During the Summer months, walking tours are very popular as well with breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. Cervinia also has a good range of other activities, including a local sports centre, cinema, bowling and amusement arcade.
A Cervinia ski pass also covers the Valtournenche and Zermatt slopes. You can climb the lift system and travel to the nearby village of Valtournenche (5 kilometres down the valley) or cross the frontier into the more challenging resort of Zermatt in Switzerland.
There is a good mix of pistes for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders, parks, night skiing and some testing off-piste terrain. The easy gradient is perfect for beginners to gain confidence in an extensive high-mountain area.
There are three main ski schools in Cervinia: Cervino Ski School, Breuil Ski-Snowboard-Freeride School, and the Matterhorn-Cervinia Ski School. They all have offices conveniently placed at the top of the Plan Maison cable car and in the town centre. In addition, due to its high altitude, Cervinia has an especially long season and great snow and is especially popular for intermediates.
