Hochgurgl Ski Resort
Hochgurgl is an Austrian ski resort with a skiing area of 112km of downhill skiing, 39 individual pistes and 25 ski lifts. The skiing areas in Hochgurl are divided into two similarly-sized sectors. Full verticle skiing above Pill and Hochgurgl and doorstep skiing in Obergurgl, two areas linked by a single ski bus.
More importantly, there’s skiing for all levels of ability in both sectors. Beginners can start off on the Gaisberg or Mahdstuhl lifts; whilst more experienced skiers are able to find most of the runs at Festkogl above Obergurgl or on the Schermerspitze run above Hochgurgl. Arriving at the top of the mountain you’ll be awestruck with mesmerizing views of the Dolomites and the Northern Alps on the opposite end.
Experts can adventure themselves in the black Hohe Mut run or the Ferwalltal descents above Obergurgl. What most competitive skiers do is take a guided tour into the large off-piste paradise in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. Certainly a resort you’ll want to add to your bucket list if you haven’t already.
