Skiing in La Clusaz
La Clusaz’s skiing trails are scattered throughout five different mountains – L’Aiguille, Balme, Beauregard, La Croix Fry-Manigod-Merdassioer and L’Etale. These trails are all linked together and are accessible by one of the 49 lifts available in the surrounding areas.
L’Aiguille is renowned for its many bright slopes with long verticals – the biggest vertical being 1200m long. Balme, the highest mountain among the five has a black run ending in red named Combe du Fernay. Beauregard and La Croix-Fry-Manigod Merdassier are both areas where beginners and children can dip their toes in, having significantly less steep slopes than its neighbour L’Etale, which is a more intermediate and advanced area.
A “Summit Circle” has been implemented for the sake of advanced and expert skiers in La Clusaz – it is a route comprised of mainly black and red trails. Close by, in the Aiguille mountain, there is one of the best natural mogul slopes, “The Edgar Wall”. Nicknamed after a French skiing champion.

Facilities in La Clusaz
La Clusaz is a picturesque Savoyard resort with a traditional village square with charming beauty, where a church sitting right in the centre persists against the test of time. Tourists gather and stroll throughout the three main shopping streets, window-shopping and buying nice souvenirs to bring home.
Offering around 60 restaurants and a fair selection of quality bars, La Clusaz still isn’t a resort known for its aprés-ski. Regardless, it is still a place where you can experience authentic Savoyard delicacies.
La Clusaz isn’t a place riddled with luxury. Most of the hotels in the village are 2/3-star hotels, while there exists the possibility of a 4-star hotel’s construction. The luxury aspect of this resort is the chalets available in and outside the village.
Much like other resorts, La Clusaz has a large ski-school with around 150 instructors offering group and private lessons. For alternatives, there are schools specialised in snowboarding and off-piste guiding. Book your ski hire in La Clusaz.
