Summer has arrived!
It’s safe to say that summer has to truly arrived to the Alps.
The last few days in Morzine have seen scorching temperatures and beautiful blue skies – just in time for the start of the Passportes Du Soleil mountain biking event.
This event will see thousands of riders tackle a course that takes them right the way around the Portes Du Soleil area. It starts today and runs through the weekend and also marks the official opening of the lift network in the Portes Du Soleil for the summer season.
Everyone here at Ski-Lifts wishes all participants the best of luck and we hope you enjoy it. We’re pretty sure that the hot temperatures will mean everyone will be looking forward to a well earned cold drink come the end of the day!
As the summer starts to get into full swing, we’ll try to keep you updated with some of the events that are going on around the Alps.
There is plenty to appeal to everyone, ranging from the chance to go and watch the best rock climbers in the world compete in Chamonix on the weekend of the 14th July, which handily coincides with the Chamonix Beer Festival.
Or maybe something completely different, like the International mechanical musical festival hosted in Les Getslater on in the same month – surely that is not something most people can say they’ve been to see?!
Our transfers are up and running for the summer season, with shared transfers available to resorts such as Morzine, Chamonix and Les Gets and private transfers to all of the other resorts in the Alps.
Don’t forget that your bikes are transported by us free of charge.
Snow is never far from our minds – many of the resorts in the Southern Hemisphere have seen great snowfall for their early season.
It is around about now that we start turning our attention to the winter and begin to plan how we can continue to improve the service that we can offer to our customers. We always welcome suggestions, so please drop us an email if you think we could be doing something different.
In the next few weeks we’ll be releasing our prices for transfers for the 2012-13 winter season.
Early birds can still book transfers now on our website for next winter, at last seasons rates.
