Bardonecchia Ski Resort
Bardonecchia is spread out over 3 areas: Melezet, Jafferau and Campo Smith. The area offers 100km of pistes, with the vast majority for beginner and intermediate skiers. Beginners will enjoy the variety of terrain at Campo Smith and Melezet, which ranges from wide-open clearings to tree-lined forest trails. Freestylers will enjoy the challenges of the Olympic Park at Melezet. Experts will appreciate the challenge of Trampolino and Bardonecchia-Fregiusia running through the pines. Colomion and Melezet offer long, wide cruising runs for snowboarders, while Jafferau offers steeps and bumps. However, there’s an even cooler treat in store for snowboarders: the 130m Olympic Pipe, opened in 2006 for the Turin Olympics. It features 14 rails, a box, 12 jumps, and two boardercross courses. There’s even a beginners’ area with a kicker and DJ music. If you’d like to try something different, cross-country skiing on the 10km Valle Stretta trail offers you the chance to see The Soldier’s Wall (“Parete dei Militi”) and other landmarks.
