Skiing in Valfrejus
Beginner, intermediate or expert — it’s not hard to find your skiing groove in Valfrejus.
Beginners will enjoy the nursery slopes in the village, and on the Plateau d’Arrondaz (2200m). Green trails also descend from the plateau back to the village through the trees.
A full three-quarters of the trails in Valfréjus are intermediate. There are a dozen long blue and red runs, with the longest measuring 9.9km! There’s a great variety of terrain, with higher slopes well above the tree line, providing open snowy slopes and fast cruising trails.

Facilities in Valfrejus
Varied skiing, relatively quiet, unspoiled scenery, friendly village vibe, and self-catering accommodation to fit most budgets. Valfrejus provides incredible value for families, or anyone looking for a quiet Alpine getaway.

Valfrejus offers 3 mountain restaurants and a half-dozen restaurants in town. Since you’re so close to Italy, the pizza is often good (especially at La Cordee) but since this is France, a simple crepe from the Gourmand might be a nice sample of local cuisine. Three grocery shops selling baked goods, regional produce, and delicatessen goods round up Valfrejus’ culinary offerings.

Most of the accommodation is located close to the one high-speed lift for the ski area, as well as within walking distance to most restaurants & shops in the resort. Reasonable but comfortable & convenient is the theme here so most accommodations offer self-catering—perfect for families. A secret: take the short trip to Orelle and catch the gondola ride from there to Three Valleys, the world’s biggest ski area. It’s much cheaper than staying in Three Valleys itself.

Valfrejus is a great destination for skiers of all skill levels. Its International Ski School offers top-quality ski lessons to help you refine your skills. Whether you prefer group classes or private lessons, you and your family will find the right place to learn skiing, snowboarding, freeriding & off-piste, snowshoeing, and heli-skiing.
