Skiing in Serre Chevalier

Serre Chevalier resort covers a major ski area of southeastern France. It‘s one of the biggest ski resorts in the country and Europe. The altitude varies between 1200m and 2800m which is flexible for all level skiers. The treeline is higher than the Alps average which means that there are more slopes in the woods for skiing in bad weather conditions.

A link of 250km pistes assures that there are many different slopes to choose from. Snow retention is especially good in this region due to its north facing position. Snow machines cover the upper part of the mountain when the lower part is covered by trees.

Serre Chevalier is connected with small villages linked by a busy road. The resort is mostly visited by families, so during February/March French school holidays, it can get very busy.

Increasingly Serre Chevalier is developing as a year-round destination with increasing amounts of visitors in the summer taking part in mountain biking, kayaking, walking and climbing.

In the winter there is an opportunity to use your lift pass to visit the nearby resorts of Alpe D’Huez and Les Deux Alpes.
