Sestriere Ski Resort
Standing at an altitude of 2035m, Sestriere Resort was purpose-built for skiing in 1934. Located in the centre of the Milky Way, Sestriere is known for its picturesque views, brilliant off-piste skiing, and unique terrain. It has great connections with the neighbouring villages of Montgenèvre, Clavière, Sauze d’Oulx, and Sansicario. That makes this ski area one of Europe’s biggest, with 146 runs stretching over 400km.
Most slopes are continually covered with artificial snow to maintain high-quality skiing in all weather conditions. The highest point, 2840m, ensures that real snow is also always available.
Sestriere offers plenty for intermediate-level runs, including slopes in woods, steep areas, wide panoramic or long narrow runs. 47% of red slopes and 37% of blue makes it a perfect balance for improving your skill level from the bottom.
The resort features charming bars and restaurants, like Il Cantun and Brass Monkey Pub, providing a warm vibe for unwinding after a day on the slopes with delightful Italian cuisine and drinks. While Sestriere may not offer the high-energy nightlife found in larger resorts, it creates a tranquil and inclusive atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for couples, families, and friends who prefer quality time in a serene mountain setting.
